FULL VIEW PLEASE!

i've finally been bitten (haha) by the twilight bug. i pretty much devoured all three books in one week, and i can't wait for the fourth one to come out next fall!

curious, i decided to explore what sort of fandom existed for it on DA and was appalled. most of it consists of ppl posting or coloring and mostly never crediting pictures from a manga version of the series--the fact that there even is a manga version is deplorable to me. as far as i'm concerned, there's only one original and truly great picture of edward cullen (way to be Eldanis) and there's NO truly great picture of jacob black. as such, i took it upon myself to do a pseudo-realism shot of what he looks like to me (his hair is in the process of growing out from the short crop, placing this somewhere in the first half of eclipse).

i haven't done traditional pencil shading in ages, and i think it really shows. i guess i can credit the graininess to how rough my sketch pad paper is, but i still feel like i could make it sharper if i was more in practice. so i went ahead and added some noise to the parchment layer in order to make it more unified. i'll likely tinker with this some more, maybe even back in my sketch pad. if i can't get more satisfied, i may very well go ahead and color digitally.
